The Michigan Out of Doors Youth Camp is committed to connecting youth with the outdoors. We offer several scholarships for campers in need. Beginning in January, we will start accepting application for the scholarships listed below. You must meet the criteria for each scholarship, and complete the full scholarship application to be considered.

Riley Wilderness Youth Camp

The Riley Wilderness Youth Camp (RWYC) program is created and sponsored by SCI-Novi Chapter, as a result of a generous donation from the Riley Foundation, whose founder was George F. Riley (SCI-Novi Chapter Member and SCI Life Member)
The youth must meet one or more of the following criteria in order to be eligible for a scholarship:

1. Limited to no experience in hunting and the outdoors
2. Lack of family financial resources to attend a program of this nature
3. Lack of an active mentor to expose them to outdoor activities
4. Not yet having earned a Michigan Hunter Safety Certificate

This camp takes place July 21st – 26th, 2024 and is themed around our hunting heritage program.

Connor Shea Memorial Fund

Connor Shea was a former Michigan Out-of-Doors camper back in 2011. In January of 2021, Connor passed away and in memory of him, the Shea family of Brighton has donated to create this scholarship opportunity. This year, three campers will be able to attend camp at no cost because of this. This scholarship is for kids who have a connection to a military member in their family.

The application for the 2024 season has closed. Thank you to all who applied!

If you do not qualify for the opportunities listed above and need assistance to attend camp, please fill out the MOOD Youth Camp Scholarship Application HERE: Applications were due April 1, 2024. Thank you to all who applied!

We do have other scholarships available. Affiliated clubs, like the Maple River Wildlife Association, have donated funds in past years for camper scholarships. We thank all who have donated and are willing to help send campers in need of financial assistance to camp this season.

> MUCC Affliate Clubs

If sponsored by an affiliated club, the club must send the camp director a ‘Club Sponsored Camper Contact Form’ before registration opens on March 1st, 2024. Spots are not guaranteed until confirmed by the camp director.
